pyRevit gives your team one-click buttons built directly into the Revit ribbon, best for repetitive tasks where the process is always the same. MCP is AI-powered and better suited for tasks where inputs vary, logic is required, or you want to give instructions in plain language. Many teams use both.

No, they are fully independent. Subscribe to one or both. If you subscribe to both, you get an additional 10% bundle discount on top of any volume discount that applies to your team size.

A seat is one person using the tools at a time. Seats are concurrent, so 5 seats means any 5 people can use the tools at once, no matter how many people have them installed. When someone closes Revit, their seat is released automatically within 20 minutes and becomes available for someone else.

Added seats are prorated for the remainder of the current billing cycle. If you add 5 seats on day 15 of a 30-day cycle, you are charged for 15 days at the per-seat daily rate, then full price from the next cycle onward. Removing seats takes effect the following billing cycle with no credit for the current period.

Monthly subscribers can cancel with 30 days written notice. Service continues through the end of that billing cycle with no partial refunds. Annual subscribers are locked in for the 12-month term with no early termination or refunds.

MCP requires proper configuration of the server, Claude Desktop, and tool connections to function correctly. The onboarding fee covers setup validation, end-to-end testing, and a training session — it exists to make sure your deployment actually works, not as an extra revenue line. Fee scales by team size: 1–5 seats $500, 6–15 seats $750, 16+ seats $1,000. Founding client pilots include onboarding at no charge.

Not by me. pyRevit tools run inside Revit and send nothing from your model anywhere. With MCP, your .rvt file stays on your machine, but the results of each query (like element names and parameter values) go to Claude, and Anthropic handles them under your Claude plan's terms. Separately, my license system collects a small amount of operational data (Windows username, computer name, tool usage) for seat management. Full details are in our privacy policy.

For MCP, yes. Each person using MCP needs a Claude seat. That can be an individual plan or a seat on a company Claude Team plan, which keeps billing in one place. Your firm pays Anthropic directly, and it isn't included in my pricing. For daily production use, plan on a paid Claude plan. If your firm needs a Data Processing Addendum or a guarantee that your data isn't used for training, Claude Team or Enterprise is the right fit. pyRevit doesn't need Claude at all.

I'll build it. The tools listed on this page are examples, not a fixed menu. Your seat price covers every tool set up or built for your firm, with no per-tool monthly fees. New tools are billed once at $150/hour, with a not-to-exceed price agreed after a short scope review, so the bill can't go over the quote without your approval. There's a 2-hour minimum per build. Most new pyRevit buttons come in between $300 and $1,750, and most new MCP tools between $500 and $2,200, depending on complexity. Build fees aren't affected by volume or bundle discounts.

pyRevit 7 includes a free MCP server, and it's a good way to experiment with Claude in Revit. It works by having Claude write new Python for each request, which you approve before anything changes. My MCP server works differently. Claude calls specific tools that I've built and tested around your firm's parameters, families, and naming rules, so the same request runs the same tool every time. It works on Revit 2024 and later, setup and support are included, and new tools get built to your workflow when you need them. If your team is happy with the free server, the pyRevit buttons work fine on their own.
